Ambient Pocket supports background audio — sound should continue playing when the screen is off or the app is in the background. If it stops, the most likely causes are:

• Battery saver / power saving mode is aggressively killing background processes. Open your system settings and exclude Ambient Pocket from battery optimization.
• You're on an old app version. Background audio was significantly improved in version 2.0.0. Make sure you're updated via the App Store or Play Store.
• You're using a Bluetooth device that's auto-disconnected when the screen locks. Check your headphones' settings.

If none of these apply, email us with your device model and OS version and we'll help.

Binaural beats combine two slightly different frequencies played in each ear — your brain perceives a "beat" at the difference frequency. Some research suggests this may gently support the brainwave state that aligns with the beat frequency (alpha for relaxation, theta for meditation, delta for deep sleep).

Important: Binaural beats are an ambient audio aid, not a medical treatment. Results vary per person. Use headphones — the effect doesn't work through speakers because each ear needs to hear a different frequency.

We designed the Auto Tuner modes as a pleasant, calming background for focus or sleep. Whether or not the binaural science fully applies to you, the ambient pad layers are designed to sound good on their own.

In the Mixer tab, once you've layered the sounds you like:

1. Tap the Save Mix button
2. Give it a name (e.g. "Rainy study afternoon")
3. Tap Save

Your mix appears in the Saved tab. Tap any saved mix to instantly load it — the exact sounds at the exact volumes you set. You can save unlimited mixes.

Yes — that's what the Tuner tab is for. Pick a waveform (sine, triangle, or sawtooth), tap notes on the piano keyboard to stack them into a chord, give your tone a name and icon, and save it. Your custom tones appear in the sound library alongside the built-in sounds and can be layered in mixes like any other sound.

Yes. Ambient Pocket works entirely offline after installation. No internet connection is needed to play sounds, create mixes, or use any feature.
